America's famed comedy troupe, The Second City, is returning to The Public this August in its one-of-a-kind "Happily Ever Laughter" tour. From the company that launched the careers of Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray and more, comes the next generation of the comedy world's best and brightest in an evening of hilarious sketch comedy and trademark improvisation.
CODY DOVE* is excited to be performing as part of this talented ensemble. He recently appeared in Baltimore: Charmed and Dangerous for Centerstage, and before that The Second City Does Arizona for Arizona Theater Company. He is a proud alumnus of The Second City Cleveland - where he performed in ever revue they produced including Burning Riverdance, For Those About to Iraq, Who's Yer Baghdadi? and No Shirt, No Shoes, No WMDs. He has traveled the world (Trondheim to Cairo to Venice to Dubln - and everywhere in between) as part of a partnership between The Second City and Norwegian Cruise Line. Originally from New Mexico, he teaches at The Second City Training Center, and has earned an Emmy for his television work. Thanks to MCD, CRD, and the home office.
KELSEY KINNEY is a Clevevland native and long-time lover of all things make-believe. Kelsey has been performing improv and sketch comedy since 2007. Since moving to Chicago in 2010, she has been fortunate enough to play with a myriad of funny folks at the iO Theater, ComedySportz Chicago, and The Playground Theater. Many thanks to James and the titaniaum in her spine for all of their support!
TIM RYDER* is honored to perform with The Second City. A native of southern Illinois, he is a graduate of Drake University, where he founded the improv group DICEY. Since moving to Chicago, he has performed with The Second City National Touring Company, Baby Wants Candy, ComedySportz and The Beatbox. NATE SHERMAN started performing improv comedy at The Ohio State Unversity with the college group The 8th Floor. He is a current member of the iO Harold Team The Late 90s, an original cast member of Oprah! A Comedy! Live Your Best Laugh!, and a member of The Davenports under David Montgomery. DANA QUERCIOLI is thrilled to be doing this show! Originally from Ohio, she was a member of the inaugural cast of The Second City Cleveland, where she performed in two mainstage revues. Since moving to Chicago, she has been lucky to perform with The Armando Diaz Theatrical Experience, Gravid Water, Meta Five, Little Room, Faux Real, and Showpony. She also wrote, produced and starred in That's The Gig: A Live, Scripted Sitcom at the iO Theater, and performs in BabyMakers, her two woman show, whenever possible. Dana would like to thank Candy, Megan, John, Colleen, her family, JMMA, her students and all of her wonderfully supportive friends. MATT HOVDE (Director) Directing credits include the 100th Revue Who Do We Think We Are?; Sky's The Limit (Weather Permitting); Stud's Terkel's Not Working (Jeff Winner - Best Director); America: All Better!; Rod Blagojevich Superstar!; Campaign Supernova; Between Barack and a Hard Place; and The Best of the Second City. He is the Artistic Director of the Second City Training Center, and is a founder of the Galileo Players sketch group. Matt was born in Chicago, grew up in Omaha, and graduated from TCU. He thanks Mick, Richard, and Pegi for inspiration and his family for their support. He enjoys games, science and sandwiches.
MATTHEW LOREN COHEN (Music Director) is a classically trained pianist. Past credits with The Second City: Charmed and Dangerous at Centerstage; It Takes a 'Ville at Actors Theatre of Louisville; The Second City Does Arizona, or Close but No Saguaro at Arizona Theatre Company (music director, original music); and Miracle at 1280 Peachtree Street at the Alliance Theatre (music direction). JOSEPH RUFFNER (Stage Manager) is the Producer of the Second City Touring Company. He has stage managed revues for the Second City in both Chicago and Cleveland, including the Jeff Award-winning Studs Terkel's Not Working, the Shanoff-Furman musical Rod Blagojevich Superstar and the original incarnation of Sex & The Second City. He devotes much of his time to the Second City touring companies, and his favorite performances are those by his two daughters, Isabella and Sofia, and his beloved wife, Jennifer.
